~There will be a Fellowship Dinner
honoring our graduates after the worship service next Sunday, May 20. Bring
a favorite “pot luck” dish and be a part of the celebration.
~Substitute teachers are needed to work with
our children (ages 4 – 9) on Wednesday evenings. Please contact Suellen if you would be
willing to serve when there is a need.

~In honor of the missionary
family’s visit with our church body next weekend, there will be a “pot luck” fellowship
dinner following the Sunday worship service. Bring a favorite dish that serves
your family plus 2 and join together for a time of fellowship.
In
preparation for the dinner on Sunday, helpers are needed to set up the fellowship hall for the meal. Please
meet at 10 a.m. this Friday, April 27 if you are available to help.

collection begins this morning and will run through next Sunday, April 22. There is a need for boxed cereal and all canned
vegetables, except beans and corn. However, anything you would like to donate
will be gladly accepted. If you have any questions, please contact Cindy.
~Part of Women’s Ministries is sending
birthday and anniversary cards to our church family. If you would like
to take part in helping by sending out cards for a month or by donating cards
and stamps, please contact Margaret.
~Numerous
books from the church library are currently overdue. Please check the due dates on any
books you may have checked out and return those passed due. The check-out time
is six (6) weeks. All users of the library are asked to return books in a
timely manner for others to enjoy reading.

January 29, 2012, the church voted to accept the proposed changes to
the constitution and bylaws and confirmed the nominees for elder, deacons, and
treasurer.
~The newly revised constitution and bylaws

Deacons have voted to request that anyone making any purchases on behalf of the
church, regardless of the amount, first needs to have the proposed expenditure
approved by a Deacon. After the purchase is approved then the receipt shall be
given to a Deacon and he will forward it to the Treasurer for reimbursement.
This procedure is required so that the Deacons can make up-to-the-minute
decisions on expenditures for the church and keep a current balance sheet.
~New Young Adult Sunday School Class…This
class will begin next Sunday, January 8, with a study of the book of James.
After church, there will be a lunch meet/greet/eat
at Steve and Suellen’s home. If you have not already spoken to
Steve or Suellen, please let them or the pastor know that you are interested in
being a part of this group.

~Christmas Day Schedule…There will be no Sunday school classes on Christmas
Day. The one-hour worship service will begin at 10:00 a.m. and will include
singing, a message, and the Lord’s Table.

those of you who purchased poinsettias may take them with you after the worship
service. Your name and to whom the poinsettia was dedicated is printed on
a label inside the gold sleeve. Thank you for your part in making the sanctuary
look lovely for the Christmas season.

Operation Christmas Child. Thirty shoe boxes were collected this year.
Participants also ordered baby chicks, dairy goats, weeks of milk for children,
and mosquito nets from Samaritan’s Purse Christmas Gift Catalog. Thanks
to all who made this one of our best years!

~Thank you to all who participated in last Saturday’s
annual church clean-up day. Your work was greatly appreciated. Several projects
were completed inside and outside. There are a few more projects that need to
be completed, so if anyone can help, please contact Terry or Debra. Thanks
again for a job well done!!

~Christmas poinsettias…To
commemorate Christ’s birth and to honor loved ones, red and white
poinsettias will be placed in the auditorium again this year. Order forms will
be available in the bulletin next week for you to complete and return along
with $8.00 for each poinsettia ordered. Checks should be made payable to LCBC.
Poinsettias will be displayed in December and dedications will be published in
the bulletin December 11 and December 18. Poinsettias may be picked up
after the worship service on December 18 or December 25.
~Wood Memorial Nursing Home…Anyone interested in visiting, reading, and going on walks with some of the residents is invited to meet Thursday, October 20 at 10 a.m. at the nursing home to take the grand tour and get acquainted. Volunteers are also needed to help with the monthly Birthday Party, Tuesday, October 25 at 3 p.m. We can always use more volunteers for Bingo, every Friday at 3 p.m.

bring a decorated pumpkin for the “best decorated pumpkin”
competition. Do you play a musical
instrument? If so, bring your instrument
and join in an impromptu jam session. There is a sign-up sheet in the foyer for

are invited to a “Kick-Off” breakfast for the Saturday morning
men’s Bible study of Matthew – “How could God’s chosen
people fail to recognize Him when He came?” Breakfast will be served at 7
a.m. in the Fellowship Hall.
~Sunshine Ministry volunteers send
birthday and anniversary cards from the church to our missionaries and church
attendees. If you would like to be a part of this ministry and take a month to
send cards, contact Margaret. If you are not receiving a card from the church
for these occasions, please let Margaret know.

~Wood Memorial…One-on-one
visitation, taking walks, and reading to residents will be starting at Wood
Memorial. If there is anyone who did not
sign up to help but would like to be part of this ministry, please contact
Cindy.
Volunteers
have started helping the residents during the weekly bingo game held on Fridays
from 3 to 3:30 p.m. Anyone is welcome to
join in and help. Also, once a month
there is bingo on Saturday at 3 p.m. The Saturday of the month may vary so look
for an announcement of the date each month.

~Mercy Ministries…If you would
like to be a part of a ministry to visit those that are sick in our church
family, please contact Suellen.
